Effective Monday, January 29, 2024, the summer registration for Summer School and ESY programs will begin in PowerSchool. This process has changed. For a detailed timeline and directions for registering students refer to the Summer School/ESY Registration Process handbook. A summary of this year’s Summer School and ESY highlights is provided below for your reference.
- It is the responsibility of the student’s home school to tag students. The ELO office will hold office hours every Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00, beginning January 24th for assistance with tagging. Zoom Link https://sandiegounified.zoom.us/j/87288487571
- UTK – 8 Summer Enrollment is only open to Priority 1 students for tagging.
Under the California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant requirements and district priority areas, students who meet at least one of the following criteria will be given priority registration (P1):
- Multilingual (English Language Learner)
- Free or reduced-price meal eligibility (based on LCFF Income forms or meal applications)
- Homeless/foster youth
- Students with disabilities (IEP or 504)
- Siblings of students with the above criteria at the same school
The ELO office will send each school a roster with the designated priority 1 students identified.
- Online instruction for high school students will be available at four selected sites: SS Clairemont, SS Henry, SS Morse, and SS Scripps Ranch. Students interested in online courses must sign up at one of these four schools. It is important to note that students can only select online OR in-person courses, NOT BOTH
Summer “School Enrollments” will be created in the Summer Database for all students tagged in the main database up until Friday, March 22, 2024, by 4:00 PM. Students not tagged on or before March 22 must be manually enrolled and scheduled in the Summer School database after May 13th. The Summer School database will be available on Monday, March 25, 2024, for schools to begin the Summer School scheduling setup.
Summer School Classified Posting for those interested in working Summer School and ESY will open on April 24th through May 3rd . Summer School Training
All staff members responsible for Summer School setup or maintenance should attend Summer School training.
- Setup sessions are for current HOST School Staff responsible for setting up the Summer School schedule.
- Maintenance sessions are for staff HIRED to maintain the Summer School database.
