Over the weekend of July 22, 2022, PowerSchool was upgraded to version 22.5.1.2. Please share the following changes with other school staff at your site.

Changes to PowerSchool Administrator

  • The New Experience look introduced at the beginning of the year is now the default and only look in PowerSchool.
  • Several enhancements have been made to improve accessibility within the PowerSchool Admin portal:
    • Screen Readers: Ensuring a screen reader can properly annotate a page for those requiring sight-assistance
    • Keyboard Navigation: When using the keyboard to navigate a page, the tab button can access each and every element on the page.
    • Color Contrast: Contrast ratios correction done to assist low vision users.
  • Student Alert Icons- The icons used for the student alerts have been updated with a new look and colors in PowerSchool Admin, the Teacher Portal homepage, and teacher attendance pages.
  • PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal- Multiple issues have been resolved for Bulletins:
    • When viewing Bulletins from the Student and Parent Portal, the popup contained large whitespace on the left-hand side.
    • When deleting Bulletins, it was possible to delete a Bulletin that did not belong to the current School.
    • When creating Bulletins, the default audience is now Admins to prevent accidentally sharing information with a public audience.
    • When creating new Bulletins, an error would occur if the text contained more than 4,000 characters.

Changes to PowerTeacher Pro

  • PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook- To ensure that teachers start using the advanced features in PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook, PowerTeacher Gradebook has been removed from PowerSchool SIS with the 22.5.1.2 upgrade. The full transition to PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook begins for the 2022-2023 School Year.
  • Student Alert Icons- The student alert icons have been updated with a new look and colors in PowerTeacher Pro on the Teacher Portal homepage, and teacher attendance pages.
  • Missing assignments Report – Teachers can now include assignments with a score of zero on the missing assignments report
  • Seating chart issue resolved – When using the Google Chrome browser, selecting an Attendance Code from the Seating Chart was not saving the selected value. This issue is now resolved.
