Beginning Monday, March 23, 2026, the Student Registration for Next Year form will be accessible via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This online form is designed for parents of students currently enrolled in grades TK-11 to complete re-registration for the 2026-27 academic year. The registration window will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026.
During the re-registration period, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to confirm their student's return for the next school year. They can also review and update essential information, including address, phone number, and parent/guardian contacts.
Families of currently enrolled students are required to complete re-registration through the PowerSchool Parent Portal even if their information does not need updating.
Schools should not use a paper copy of the SDUSD Enrollment Form for continuing students except in rare cases where online completion is not possible. Paper forms should only be used as a last resort when a family faces significant barriers to completing the process online.

School Process Guidelines and Requirements
Important Process Notes for Schools
-
Re‑registration submissions will auto‑deliver directly into PowerSchool.
-
No school approval is required for re‑registration submissions unless a family submits a change of address.
-
Schools will only need to review and approve records in InfoSnap if the parent has indicated they are changing their household address.
-
Training on processing and approving submissions with an address change will be held after spring break. Please sign up in Professional Learning.
-
New reports will be added to PowerSchool to help schools monitor and review forms submitted by parents. Reports will be available under sqlReports, in the Enrollment group:
-
Student Registration for Next Year Counts - This report provides counts and percentages of students, by school, where the form was submitted by the parent.
-
Student Registration for Next Year List - This report provides a list of all currently enrolled students in grades TK-11, in addition to grade 12 students who have a Next School set. The report will indicate if the parent has submitted the form, if they are continuing next year or not, and if an address change was submitted.
-
Student Registration for Next Year Review - This report provides a list of the students schools need to review and act on, based on what the parent submitted.
Parent Portal Functionality During Re-Registration
-
The Update Your Information page in the Parent Portal will be disabled while re‑registration is active.
-
After re-registration closes on May 8, the Update Your Information page will reopen for all schools, allowing families to update their information throughout the year.
