Semester 1 Report Cards for Secondary Schools on the Traditional Calendar

Semester 1 Report Cards for Secondary Schools on the Traditional Calendar
Posted on 01/23/2020

Secondary schools following the traditional calendar (including K-8) must store final grades and submit grades for district printing no later than January 31, 2020, at 3:00 PM.

Your first step is to complete the Semester 1 Report Card Mailer Questionnaire. This questionnaire must be completed even if your school does not intend to have the district mail your report cards. The questionnaire must be submitted by Thursday, January 23, 2020. Please contact Julie Schmidt ([email protected]) with any questions.

Please review the Site Responsibility Check List to prepare for storing grades at your school:

1. In preparation for storing grades and printing report cards, the following must be completed before attending one of the Open Labs:

  • Verify that no students are scheduled with ZZ Teachers.
  • Run the Missing Grades Report to ensure sure all grades have been entered. Schools using quarters or a "4x4" schedule must run this report twice, once for each term (for example, S1 and Q2).
  • Run the Report and Progress Report Flags report to verify that the appropriate contacts will receive a report card.
  • Run the Address Errors report to check for students with possibly incomplete or missing household or parent/guardian addresses. Report cards with incomplete or missing addresses will be returned by the Post Office to your school. Be sure to select Yes to run the report for report card errors only.

2. If applicable, coordinate with other schools to determine when you can store your grades for dual enrolled students, and verify this by running the following reports:

  • Taking Classes at Another School
  • From Another School, Taking Classes Here

3. Attend one of the Open Labs to store your semester grades. Open labs are available Tuesday, January 28 through Friday, January 31, 2020. Please register for one of these sessions in Professional Learning (formerly ERO). Search for PowerSchool Open Lab: Secondary Grade Reporting.

4. Refer to the following handbooks for help:
