Starting in the 2026-27 school year, IT will launch an updated Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Progress Report in PowerSchool

The updated PowerSchool progress report uses a whole-child approach to communicate student progress with families. It offers meaningful insight into each child’s growth throughout the year and highlights development in key areas of early learning. This PowerSchool progress report is based on last year’s “TK Modified Progress Report,” which many TK teachers piloted for progress reporting.

Key features of the updated TK Report include:

• Alignment with the Preschool Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations

• Developmentally appropriate progress reporting

• New Developmental Level Descriptors:

  • NYO - Not Yet Observed

  • E - Exploring

  • B - Building

  • I - Integrating

  • NAT - Not Assessed This Trimester

• Clearer communication of student growth and development

• Stronger support for family engagement and understanding of student progress
