LCFF Data Collection for the 2026-27 School Year

San Diego Unified is beginning LCFF data collection for the 2026-27 school year, and principals and school office teams play an important role in helping families complete the form.

The Local Control Funding Formula, or LCFF, form helps ensure schools receive the maximum amount of state funding for which they are eligible. Families are asked to complete the short form through the PowerSchool Parent Portal beginning May 4, 2026.

Family communication resources

Schools are encouraged to remind families to complete the LCFF form by sharing the ready-to-use messages in the 2026-27 LCFF Data Collection Communication Toolkit in upcoming family emails, newsletters, texts and other regular communications.

Please note: A districtwide family message is scheduled to be shared through the area family newsletters on May 9.

Technical information to support school staff with LCFF data collection

Beginning May 4, 2026, LCFF data collection for the 2026-27 school year will be available in both the PowerSchool Parent Portal and PowerSchool Admin.

LCFF Form Access for Families

  • The LCFF form is available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal for all San Diego Unified schools, allowing parents/guardians to enter their information directly.

  • Parents must log in using their own Parent Portal accounts to access and submit the LCFF form.

    • The form is not accessible when logged in with a student account.

    • Job aids are available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese to support families with the Parent Portal login and submission process.

LCFF Data Entry by School Staff

  • School staff in the Power User, Attendance and Enrollment, and School Administrator permission groups may also enter or assist with LCFF data collection in PowerSchool Admin when:

    • Information is received via paper form or phone call, or Families are unable to access the Parent Portal.

  • Staff entering LCFF data in PowerSchool Admin should refer to the Entering LCFF Data in PowerSchool job aid for guidance.

LCFF Form Information Report

  • Entries submitted through the Parent Portal are dynamic and appear immediately in the LCFF Form Information Report.

  • Entries submitted through PowerSchool Admin may take up to 24 hours to appear and must be entered in the correct Term.

  • To run the LCFF Form Information reports, go to the Start Page. From the left categorized menu, select Data and Reporting, under Reports select sqlReports, then expand the Parent/Student Portal reports group
