Effective Friday, January 24, 2025, changes will be made to Unified Operations Communication (UOC) to support additional translations for about 30 new languages. We’re excited to announce that languages like Somali and Pashto will now be included in the translations offered through UOC. We hope the new languages supported by UOC will be a welcome enhancement to this important tool used to provide two-way communication between schools and families.
For a full list of the languages supported in UOC, please refer to the job aid Unified Operations Communication Supported Languages. As a reminder, there are also a number of other resources on our training and support website for UOC, including a handbook, job aids, and training videos.
Please note that many of the new languages supported by UOC will only be relevant once information is updated in PowerSchool to reflect the appropriate language for each parent/guardian. We strongly encourage schools to work with parents/guardians to update the preferred language on the Demographics page to reflect the most accurate language listed. It’s important to understand that the new version of PowerSchool now includes over 400 languages for parents/guardians to choose from.
