On April 15, 2024, paid Zoom licenses will no longer be available for all district staff. As an alternative conferencing solution, Microsoft Teams is recommended. Google Meet is also available.

Clever is updating the Teacher Portal with a fresh new look and feel to make it easier for teachers to find and use resources. The current “classic” Teacher Portal experience will be retired in July 2024 and all teachers will be transitioned to the new, Enhanced Teacher Portal. Starting March 5, 2024, the Enhanced Teacher Portal will be available for teachers to preview. Teachers can switch back and forth between the classic and enhanced portal until July 2024. Teachers can enable this feature by clicking the Preview button on the Teacher Pages. We recommend teachers take the time to preview the changes now to get used to these enhancements.

Our school district can now access award-winning STEM learning tools in English and Spanish through PebbleGo Science online resources from Capstone! Packed with informational articles, eBooks, ready-made activities, and literacy support for students, PebbleGo boosts engagement and fosters independent learning.

Our school district has access to Sora, the student reading app! Use your school credentials to instantly borrow and read ebooks, audiobooks, Read-Alongs, magazines and more on any device, at any time. (If you don’t see your school, choose San Diego Unified from the school list.)

Open eBooks is now available in the Clever Portal. Open eBooks is a web and mobile app that provides thousands of popular and award-winning books free for students and teachers in Title I schools. For more information about Open eBooks, visit the Open eBooks Information page.

Leader in Me is now available for teachers and staff at participating schools in the Clever Portal. Leader in Me is a comprehensive UTK-12 school transformation model that incorporates principles from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to nurture advancements in leadership, culture, and academics. AP US History resources are now available through the McGraw Hill application in Clever. High schools that offer AP US History courses can access the Brinkley, American History: Connecting with the Past, AP Edition, 16e 2023 eBook and curriculum through the application. Teachers can assign lessons, assignments, and assessments to their classes, and access both the teacher and student textbook. The AP Statistics student textbook is now available through the Bookshelf® by VitalSource application in Clever. High schools that offer AP Statistics courses can access The Practice of Statistics (5th ed.) student eBook through the application. Teachers can access the teacher edition eBook and resources separately through the LaunchPad application, however, the resources are not integrated through Clever. AP Psychology resources are now available through the LaunchPad application in Clever. High schools that offer AP Psychology courses can access the Myers, Psychology for AP Second Edition eBook and curriculum through the application. Starting on September 25, 2023, access to Lexia English will be limited to newcomer English Learner students and teachers who have newcomer students enrolled on their roster. Newcomer students are those that have been enrolled in the United States for one year or less and have a score of 1 (novice or minimally developed) on the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) test. The District Essential Mathematics Indicator (DEMI) assessment will be offered through the Math Anex application in Clever this year. The assessment will no longer be offered through Illuminate. The DEMI assessment is administered twice a year and is required for students in grades 3 – 12. The FALL administration of the DEMI assessment is open September 11 - September 29. Teachers and students can access Math Anex by clicking on the Math Anex tile under the Instant Login Applications section of the Clever Portal. All SDUSD teachers, staff, and students now have access to Adobe Express for Education through the Clever Portal. Adobe Express allows teachers and students in all subject areas to easily create unique graphics, design custom web pages, record video presentations, and more. Users can still access Adobe Express directly with their district credentials at https://express.adobe.com/a/sandi.net.

Access to English 3D curriculum through the HMH Intervention Services Group application will no longer be available. ELD w/ ALD teachers will now access English 3D curriculum through the HMH Ed Learning Platform SSO application. If you have any access issues, please contact Kelly Schorzman [email protected].

In an effort to assist with finding applications in Clever, tiles or icons are now organized alphabetically, under Instant Login Applications. Teachers, staff, and students can also add commonly used applications to their Favorites by clicking the heart icon on the top left-hand corner of each application tile. Applications added to Favorites will appear at the top of a user’s Clever Portal.

The Clever Portal has been updated with information for 2023-24. Most teachers and staff should be able to login now. Students will be able to access the Clever Portal on the first day of school, August 21, 2023. Please note that some schools are still working on finalizing their master schedule in PowerSchool. Teachers and staff may not have access to certain applications until the master schedule information for the school has been finalized. In some situations, non-teaching staff may need to be provided with access to Clever.

As the 2022-23 school year comes to a close, we wanted to share some important information about access to the Clever Portal over the summer and for next school year. Please note that there are some changes to timing this year.

Imagine Learning MyPath is now available for grades 6-12 students who have an English Learner designation in the Clever Portal. MyPath is an adaptive personalized learning application that uses assessment data to create individual learning pathways for grade-level success in reading. ELLevation is now available for K-12 school administrators, teachers, and staff in the Clever Portal. ELLevation is an English Language Learner management tool that provides one-stop-shop support for students from initial identification through reclassification! The system unites ELPAC, SBAC, FastBridge, and other data sources into a single database to monitor EL and RFEP students, inform domain-specific support, and digitally collect teacher feedback about student progress. Avant is now available for high schools that offer honors 7-8 World Languages courses in the Clever Portal. The Avant Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP) test is a language proficiency assessment that utilizes innovative computer adaptive technology with human scoring of the written and spoken responses. The application will be used to deliver the STAMP assessment in the Spring of 2023 and is aligned to the American Council on the teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) standards for foreign language learning. Teachers – Joins us for Dinner with BrainPOP: November 1, 4:00 -6:30 PM at the Ballard Center! Discover with hands on learning how to leverage BrainPOP content and tools across your lessons. This workshop is excellent for both new and experienced BrainPOP users in any grade level or subject area! Learn how BrainPOP utilizes Universal Design for Learning by building background knowledge, encouraging collaboration, supporting critical and creative thinking, and optimizing customizable assessments that tap into students’ creativity. In this as-learner session, educators will create digital projects to showcase mastery so you can take the lessons into your class the very next day! Effective Monday, September 19, 2022, a change in Clever will be made to the Imagine Language & Literacy application. The application will only be available to grades UTK -5 students who have an English Learner designation and teachers with English Learners on their rosters. Book Creator is now available for K-12 schools in the Clever Portal. Book Creator is a tool that allows educators and their students to create multimedia ebook on any topic. Students write or type text, upload images, make audio recordings and videos, then share the finished book they wrote. Student or teacher created ebooks can take various forms such as digital portfolios, manuals, math/science journals and poetry collections. Book Creator includes many templates to make creating various book projects easy and straightforward. Book creator is also a collaborative tool where the teacher and multiple students can work on the same book at once which is perfect for in-class and at home collaboration. This also allows teachers the opportunity to provide immediate feedback on their work. Teachers can engage the whole class in interactive writing, provide opportunities for group collaboration in the authoring process, or support individual authoring.

Formative is now available for K-12 schools in the Clever Portal. Formative, which is also known as GoFormative, is a web-based tool that allows teachers to create digital formative assessments, tasks, or assignments from scratch or use pre-existing materials. The program allows teachers to embed multimedia (images, audio/video, websites etc.) to increase student engagement and provide support when completing an assignment. It also includes a wide variety of question types and will even allow students to draw their answers, which is useful for solving math problems, annotating texts, and arts classes. Any individual item valued at $500 or more in Amazon, cannot be procured with your P-Card. The value makes it an asset and it must be procured via a Purchase Order, No Exceptions. In addition, toners or inks are not authorized to be procured via Amazon regardless of its value, No Exceptions. Links to Gale resources are now available in the Clever Portal for students and teachers! Access to Gale resources will be made available based on student grade level. Gale is one of four databases, (Britannica, Gale, ProQuest, and Teachingbooks.net) that is part of the California K-12 Digital Resources provided for all students through the California State Library. All four can be found on Clever and Destiny.

BrainPOP is now available for non-teaching school site staff in the Clever Portal. Staff members will have the same BrainPOP experience as teachers. Please note that schools must have an active BrainPOP subscription in order to access these applications.

EVERFI is now available for TK-12 schools in the Clever Portal. EVERFI works with experts in the fields of Health and Wellness, Career Exploration, Social Emotional Learning, Financial Literacy, and more to research and develop digital K12 resources. Now accessible on the Clever Portal, Digital Theatre+ is an interdisciplinary online learning platform for middle and high schools which provides access to both rich audio-visual and written materials to develop your students' knowledge, skills and understanding.

Effective January 4, 2021, schools will have access to Newsela through the Clever Portal. Teachers and students, for classes in grades 2 through 12, will have access to Newsela Essentials and Social Studies. Access includes articles, informational texts, and primary documents. The texts can be used in a range of subject areas and disciplines including history/social science, ethnic studies, English, and science. The platform and digital library will help support the online blended learning environment due to COVID-19 school closure.

Effective Friday, October 9, 2020, a change will be made to the number of co-teachers supported for each class. Previously, only 3 co-teachers were supported per class. However, up to 9 co-teachers per class will be supported moving forward.

SDUSD has purchased a 2020-2023 District Membership to Mystery Science. Mystery Science lessons are open-and-go supplemental science resources - simply gather a few materials and start teaching right away!

ST Math is now available for middle schools in the Clever Portal, for students in grades 6-8. Middle school math classes have been provided with access to ST Math.

The myPLTW app is now available in the Clever Portal for certain schools using this platform.

National Geographic Learning is now available in Clever for teachers and students who need to access the Edge, Reach, or Inside platforms. National Geographic Learning will be accessible to specific classes for English Learners and to other students and teachers via the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program.

Instructions are now available to assist schools with supporting non-teaching staff who need access to the Clever Portal.

EVERFI is now available for K-8 schools in the Clever Portal, including students at middle schools. EVERFI works with experts in the fields of Health & Wellness, Career Exploration, Social Emotional Learning, Financial Literacy, and more to research and develop digital K12 resources. Each resource is broken into lessons with automatically graded assessments. Courses also come with offline resources including lesson plans, implementation guides, and vocabulary banks. Changes to Realize, enVision, and Integrated CME Math for 2020-21

In an effort to create ease of access to students and families to online platforms, Clever will now organize Online Platforms at the top of the portal. Students and families of Early Learners through grade 5 will see Seesaw and Google Classroom. Students grades 6-12 will see Google Classroom and Canvas.

The Clever Portal will continue to reflect information for the current school year, 2019-20, through Friday, August 14, 2020. Students, teachers, and staff will continue to have access after school ends in June or July.

BrainPOP and BrainPOP ELL are now available for K-8 schools in the Clever Portal, including students at middle schools. Students in grades TK-3 will also have access to BrainPOP Jr. Thank you to our partners at BrainPOP for your support during this time.

Seesaw is now available for K-5 schools in the Clever Portal. Seesaw helps teachers to work with families to provide students with meaningful learning experiences at home. ST Math is now available for middle schools in the Clever Portal, for students in grades 6-8. Middle school math classes have been provided with access to ST Math for the duration of school closures.

Effective Thursday, August 15, 2019, Teen Health and Wellness will be added to the Clever Portal for students in Grades 9-12. Please note Teen Health and Wellness is only accessible from school or within the district network.
